Lucas to retire from Star Wars
As reported in this month’s issue of UK film magazine, Empire, George Lucas has stated his intentions for the future; a future without Star Wars.
Lucas stated “I’m moving awayfrom the company, I’m moving away from all my businesses. I’m finishing all my little obligations, and I’m going to retire out to my garage with my saw and hammer and build little hobby movies.”
He went onto state that the future live action Star Wars television serial: Clone Wars. Underworld is “sitting on a shelf somewhere. Right now it’s not financially possible. Somebody will do it one day - I probably won’t be around”
In this shocking revelation in Empire magazine, Lucas goes on to say that he plans to focus his attention on personal films.
Perhaps we will hear more on this in the lead up to Celebration VI. We will keep you posted.
